• Balance abrasion and flame-performance requirements
The PET and nylon combination is designed for vehicle harnesses that need stronger wear protection than standard PET while retaining a construction suitable for defined flame testing.
• Distribute both materials throughout the braid
Every strand contains nylon and PET, helping maintain consistent hybrid performance around the circumference rather than separating the materials into isolated areas.
• Protect wiring in demanding vehicle routes
The automotive braided wire sleeve helps reduce cable-jacket damage where harnesses contact brackets, panels or nearby components.
• Simplify connectorized harness installation
The expandable braid enlarges over many connectors and contracts around the bundle when the correct nominal size is selected.
1. Defined PET and nylon strand construction
Each strand uses one 0.38 mm nylon monofilament together with two 0.25 mm PET monofilaments
2. Balanced material performance
Nylon contributes wear resistance while PET supports structural stability and flame-performance formulation.
3. Automotive-focused abrasion protection
The braid helps reduce routine rubbing, scuffing and cable-jacket wear along vehicle harness routes.
4. Expandable tubular braid
Accommodates a specified bundle range and can expand over many connectors during assembly.
5. Flexible wire-harness routing
Follows bends, branches and moderate diameter changes without the bulk of rigid conduit.
6. Lightweight cable organization
Contains multiple wires and creates a clean, serviceable automotive cable sleeve.
7. Custom OEM supply options
Nominal size, braid density, color, cut length, labeling and packaging can be configured subject to validation.

Typical Applications
Automotive body and chassis harnesses
Protects cable bundles routed near sheet metal, brackets and mounting points where repeated contact can wear wire insulation.
Engine-bay peripheral wiring
Provides flexible abrasion protection for harnesses exposed to vibration and mechanical contact outside direct high-heat zones.
Door seat and console systems
Organizes moving or branched wiring where flexibility and resistance to repeated rubbing are important.
Battery and power-electronics auxiliary harnesses
Protects low-voltage control and sensor wiring around modules, frames and cable-routing hardware.
Commercial and off-road vehicle wiring
Supports durable cable management in equipment exposed to vibration, servicing and demanding harness routes.
Specifications
Provide the minimum and maximum harness diameter, largest connector dimensions, bend radius, movement, contact surfaces, temperature, fluids and required flame standard. Select a nominal size that can pass over the connector without remaining at maximum expansion after installation. For wear-critical routes, identify the abrasion point, contact pressure and movement cycle. For flame-critical projects, specify the exact automotive or customer test method rather than requesting a general flame-retardant claim. Final suitability should be verified on the actual harness installation.
Customization Available
Nominal diameter and expansion range - Matched to the installed cable bundle and connector clearance.
Braid density and coverage - Reviewed to balance flexibility, protection, installed appearance and expansion.
Color and identification - Black is standard; tracer lines or project colors are subject to yarn availability and MOQ.
Cut lengths and OEM packaging - Prepared pieces, labels, reels, bags, kits and customer-specific cartons can be supplied.
The PET and nylon construction is engineered to balance abrasion protection and flame-performance requirements, but the material combination alone does not establish a certified flame rating. Any UL 94, FMVSS 302, VW-1 or customer-specific statement must correspond to a report for the exact BRS-PET+PA construction, color and test condition. RoHS, REACH and other material declarations may be supplied for the confirmed production specification. Final automotive approval remains subject to the customer harness and vehicle validation process.
Monofilament construction control - Nylon and PET filament diameters and the one-plus-two strand configuration are verified against the approved specification.
Material and color verification - Incoming polymer yarn identity, appearance and lot information are checked before production.
Braid and coverage inspection - Braid consistency, filament distribution, broken yarns and surface defects are monitored.
Dimensional and expansion check - Nominal size and installed fit are verified on controlled bundle diameters.
Final release and traceability - Length, quantity, labels, packaging and applicable documents are confirmed before shipment.
Frequently Asked Questions
01. Why combine PET and nylon in the same sleeve?
Nylon improves resistance to mechanical wear, while PET supports dimensional stability and flame-performance design. The hybrid structure is intended to balance both requirements.
02. How are the PET and nylon filaments arranged?
Each braided strand contains one 0.38 mm nylon monofilament and two 0.25 mm PET monofilaments.
03. Is BRS-PET+PA automatically flame retardant?
No. A flame rating must be supported by testing of the exact construction. Please specify the required standard, such as FMVSS 302 or another project method.
04. Can the sleeve pass over automotive connectors?
Yes, when the selected nominal size and expansion range accommodate the largest connector. Provide connector dimensions for confirmation.
