High Density PET Tight Weave Expandable Braided Mesh Cable Sleeve

MJ FLEX BRS-PET-HD is a high-density PET expandable braided mesh cable sleeve designed for applications that require more complete cable coverage than a standard open-weave braid. This tight weave braided sleeving uses closely packed PET monofilaments to reduce visible gaps between yarns. It helps conceal mixed-color wires and creates a cleaner, more uniform harness appearance. The expandable tubular structure fits around connectors and changing bundle diameters while providing lightweight mechanical protection for automotive, industrial and electronic cable assemblies.

  • Why Choose BRS-PET-HD?

    • Improve cable coverage

The tight weave reduces open spaces in the braid, helping cover exposed conductors, mixed wire colors and irregular bundles.

    • Create a cleaner harness appearance

PET provides a lightweight sacrificial barrier against rubbing and scuffing.

    • Protect without bulky conduit

The lightweight PET mesh helps reduce routine rubbing while preserving flexibility and airflow.

    • Fit connectors and diameter changes

The expandable braid enlarges for installation and contracts around the cable bundle when the correct size is selected.

    Key Features

    1. High-density braided construction

This high density braided sleeving provides greater visual coverage than conventional open-weave products.

    2. Expandable mesh structure

The braided mesh sleeve accommodates a defined range of cable diameters and can pass over many connectors during installation.

    3. Improved wire concealment

Helps mask mixed colors, markings and uneven cable arrangements inside the bundle.

    4. Lightweight abrasion protection

Creates a flexible barrier that helps reduce routine cable-jacket rubbing and scuffing.

    5. Flexible harness routing

Bends with cable assemblies and follows moderate changes in bundle profile.

    6. Clean cable-management finish

The mesh cable wrap produces an organized appearance for equipment wiring and customer-visible assemblies.

    7. Custom OEM configurations

Nominal size, braid density, color, cut length and packaging can be reviewed for project requirements.

    How to Select

Measure the minimum and maximum cable-bundle diameter and the largest connector or fitting the sleeve must pass over. Choose a nominal size that provides the required installed coverage without operating continuously at maximum expansion. Greater expansion opens the braid angle and reduces surface coverage, so projects with strict concealment requirements should be evaluated on the actual bundle. Also specify bend radius, movement, abrasion, temperature, fluids, color and cut-length requirements.

    Customization Available

Nominal diameter and expansion range - Sized for the cable bundle, connector clearance and target coverage.

Braid density and yarn configuration - Reviewed to balance coverage, flexibility, weight and installation requirements.

Colors and identification - Standard black plus project colors or tracer options subject to MOQ and yarn availability.

Cut lengths and packaging - Hot-cut or other agreed end preparation, labeled lengths, reels, bags and OEM cartons are available.

    Testing and Compliance

Material declarations such as RoHS and REACH may be available for the confirmed construction. Standard BRS-PET-HD should not be presented as flame retardant, UV resistant or suitable for a defined temperature class unless the exact supplied version is supported by corresponding test data. Coverage and expansion should be verified at the actual installed diameter because braid openness changes as the sleeve expands.

    Quality Assurance

PET yarn verification - Material identity, color and incoming yarn condition are checked against the approved specification.

Braid-density inspection - Yarn distribution, coverage consistency and visible openings are monitored during production.

Dimensional and expansion check - Nominal size and fit are verified using controlled bundle diameters.

Surface-quality inspection - Broken filaments, contamination, loops and other visible braid defects are checked.

Final order release - Length, quantity, labels, packaging and required documents are confirmed before shipment.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    01. How is BRS-PET-HD different from standard PET braided sleeving?
It uses a tighter braid to provide greater visual coverage and a more uniform finished appearance. Exact coverage depends on the installed diameter.
    02. Does expansion affect cable coverage?
Yes. As the sleeve expands, the braid angle opens and the visible gaps increase. Select the size using both the cable bundle and the required coverage.
    03. Can it pass over connectors?
Yes, when the selected construction has sufficient expansion for the largest connector. Provide connector dimensions for confirmation.
    04. Can custom colors be supplied?
Yes, subject to PET yarn availability, color tolerance and minimum order quantity.
    05. How should the sleeve ends be finished?
PET braid is commonly hot-cut to help control fraying. The final cutting method should match the assembly process and appearance requirement.
