UV Resistant PET Expaneable Braided Cabel Sleeve

MJ FLEX BRS-PET-UV is an expandable PET cable sleeve formulated for outdoor and sunlight-exposed wiring. The referenced black construction has been evaluated by ISO 4892-2 accelerated weathering for 1,000 hours, helping engineers select a more suitable braid than standard indoor PET for solar, telecom and outdoor equipment.

  • Why Choose BRS-PET-UV?

    • Reduce sunlight-related degradation

UV-stabilized material helps retain mechanical performance during prolonged outdoor exposure.

    • Protect outdoor cable jackets

The braid provides an added barrier against abrasion and handling damage.

    • Fit terminated outdoor harnesses

Expandable construction passes over connectors and recovers around the bundle.

    • Support evidence-based selection

Weathering data can be reviewed instead of relying on a generic outdoor claim.

    ● Note: Expanded range describes geometric capability, not the preferred continuous operating point. Selecting near maximum expansion increases braid openings, reduces surface coverage and shortens installed length.

    Typical Applications

    Solar and photovoltaic equipment
Protects exposed control and communication wiring from sunlight and abrasion.
    Outdoor telecom systems
Organizes antenna, cabinet and infrastructure cable bundles.
    EV charging equipment
Protects external or semi-exposed auxiliary wiring around charging assemblies.
    Agricultural and construction equipment
Covers harnesses exposed to sun, dust and repeated handling.
    Outdoor lighting and signage
Organizes power and signal cables in weather-exposed installations.

    How to Select

State the exposure location, expected service life, climate, temperature, moisture, chemicals and mechanical wear. Accelerated weathering supports material comparison but does not predict an exact outdoor lifetime. Select the size using both the finished bundle and largest connector.

    Testing and Compliance

The referenced construction was tested to ISO 4892-2 for 1,000 hours at 0.35 W/m2 at 340 nm, black-panel temperature 65 C and 50% RH using a 102-minute light plus 18-minute spray cycle. Test data do not constitute a universal service-life warranty. Applicable RoHS, REACH and halogen-free documents may be supplied.

    Customization Available

    • Diameter and coverage - Balanced for installed fit and connector pass-through.

    • Cut lengths - Prepared pieces for outdoor equipment assembly.

    • Packaging and labels - UV product identification and project references.

    • Special construction review - Braid density or combined requirements can be evaluated.

    Quality and Supply Assurance

    • UV material verification - Approved stabilized PET yarn is controlled by lot.

    • Braid-process checks - Diameter, coverage and filament condition are monitored.

    • Fit and expansion inspection - Representative samples are checked on mandrels.

    • Traceable release - Labels and requested weathering documents are verified.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    01. Is standard PET suitable outdoors?
For prolonged sunlight exposure, the UV-resistant grade is the safer selection.
    02. Does 1,000 hours equal a fixed number of outdoor years?
No. Accelerated testing does not convert directly into one universal service life.
    03. Is UV resistance available in colors?
Black is the referenced construction; other colors require separate review.
    04. Can it be used around outdoor connectors?
Yes, when the selected size expands over the connector and recovers around the cable bundle.
    05. Should abrasion be checked again after UV exposure?
Yes for demanding installations. UV ageing and abrasion can interact, so post-weathering flex or abrasion testing may be appropriate when the harness moves or contacts surrounding parts.

    Quality and Supply Assurance

Share the bundle diameter, largest connector, operating environment, required test standard, cutting or packaging needs and estimated quantity. MJ FLEX will recommend a suitable construction and arrange a sample or quotation.
