Nylon Multifilament Braided Cable Sleeve

MJ FLEX BRS-PA-MF uses bundled nylon filaments to create a softer, more textile-like cable sleeve than conventional monofilament braid. It is intended for harnesses that require flexible abrasion protection without a hard plastic contact surface. The construction conforms around cables, supports comfortable manual handling and helps protect finished or sensitive cable jackets.

  • Why Choose BRS-PAMF Nylon Multifilament Sleeving?

    • Protect sensitive cable surfaces

The softer multifilament contact surface helps reduce marking and hard contact on finished cable jackets.

    • Improve flexibility in tight routing

The textile-like braid conforms closely around bends and irregular harness shapes.

    • Make manual assembly more comfortable

Soft yarn is easier to handle in equipment, vehicle and appliance assembly.

    • Control abrasion without a rigid feel

The sleeve provides a sacrificial wear layer while keeping the harness supple.

    Key Features

    1. Soft nylon multifilament yarn

Creates a textile-like surface for cable protection and handling.

    2. Conforming braided coverage

Fits closely around irregular bundles and curved cable routes.

    3. Flexible abrasion barrier

Helps protect cable jackets from routine rubbing and scuffing.

    4. Reduced hard-surface contact

Useful where a stiff monofilament sleeve could mark nearby finished components.

    5. Expandable construction

Accommodates connectors and moderate bundle-diameter variation.

    6. Low-bulk cable bundling

Organizes harnesses without the stiffness of conduit.

    7. Custom finishing options

Cut length, color, packaging and end treatment can be reviewed by project.

    ● Note: Expanded range describes geometric capability, not the preferred continuous operating point. Selecting near maximum expansion increases braid openings, reduces surface coverage and shortens installed length.

    Typical Applications
    Automotive interior harnesses
Protects cables near trim, seats and interior modules while reducing hard contact with finished surfaces.
    Audio and communication cables
Bundles flexible cable assemblies where appearance, touch and surface protection matter.
    Medical and laboratory equipment
Organizes low-voltage leads requiring flexible handling; cleaning and biocompatibility requirements need separate approval.
    Electrical appliances
Protects internal wiring routed around housings and components without adding excessive stiffness.
    Robotics and articulated equipment
Allows close, flexible coverage on cable bundles that bend or are handled during service.

    Size Selection and Installation

    • Measure the cable bundle and the largest connector that must pass through the sleeve.

    • Choose a size that fits within the stated range without using maximum expansion.

    • Allow extra length for braid shortening, then cut with a hot knife to seal the edge.

    • Compress the sleeve, slide it over the connector, release it around the bundle and secure the ends.

If the harness cannot be disconnected, select a split, self-closing, zipper or hook-and-loop sleeve instead.

    How to Select

Use multifilament nylon when soft contact, flexibility and protection of finished cable surfaces are more important than the open, spring-like behavior of monofilament braid. Provide the cable-jacket material, bend frequency, abrasion source, cleanliness requirement, bundle size and desired end treatment.

    Customization Options

    • Yarn feel and construction - Multifilament count and braid design can be reviewed for softness, coverage and handling.

    • Bundle-size matching - Nominal size can be selected around the installed cable diameter and required connector pass-through.

    • Color selection - Black is standard; special colors depend on yarn availability and minimum order.

    • Cut-length preparation - Pieces can be supplied for assembly lines with agreed tolerance and end-control method.

    • Packaging format - Spools, coils, bags, private labels and kit quantities can be discussed for the project.

    Testing and Compliance

Material compliance documents such as RoHS, REACH and halogen-free declarations may be available for the selected nylon yarn. Soft multifilament construction does not by itself establish acoustic, medical, biocompatibility or flame-retardant performance. Any such requirement must be reviewed against a specific test method and production construction.

    Quality Assurance

    • Yarn cleanliness check - Multifilament yarn is inspected for contamination, damage and color consistency.

    • Soft-surface inspection - Finished braid is checked for protruding filaments and defects that could mark cable jackets.

    • Coverage control - Braid density and appearance are monitored across the production run.

    • Fit verification - Representative samples are checked on the intended bundle range.

    • Packing protection - Finished sleeving is packaged to reduce crushing, contamination and tangling during shipment.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    01. Is multifilament sleeving softer than monofilament sleeving?
Yes. Bundled fine filaments create a softer, more textile-like contact surface.
    02. Does it eliminate noise?
No general noise-reduction claim should be assumed. Noise performance depends on the complete assembly, contact surfaces, preload and vibration conditions.
    03. Can it be used in medical equipment?
It can be considered for cable organization, but any biocompatibility, sterilization or cleaning requirement must be separately evaluated.
    04.How are cut ends controlled?
The suitable cutting and end-finishing method depends on the yarn construction. Confirm the required cut length and assembly process before production.
