Typical Applications
Rolling-stock interiors
Protects passenger-area wiring while addressing the specified railway fire requirement.
Driver cabs and control panels
Organizes signal and control wiring in confined electrical spaces.
Door, lighting and HVAC systems
Reduces abrasion on moving or serviceable harnesses routed through onboard equipment.
Railway electrical cabinets
Separates and protects power, communication and auxiliary cable bundles.
Rail infrastructure equipment
Supports cable protection in trackside or station equipment when the project specification calls for the referenced test.
Confirm the required requirement set, hazard level, bundle diameter, largest connector, operating temperature and installation location. EN 45545-2 is not interchangeable with VW-1, UL 94 V-0, ECE R118 or FMVSS 302. Request report matching before design approval.
Customization Available
• Diameter and expansion - Matched to the cable bundle and connector pass-through.
• Cut lengths - Hot-knife cut pieces with agreed tolerance.
• Identification - Project, batch and report-reference labels.
• Packaging - Custom roll length, cartons and private labels.
The referenced construction meets EN 45545-2 R22 and R23 at HL3. This statement applies only to the tested material and construction; it does not certify the complete harness or vehicle. RoHS, REACH and halogen-free documentation may be supplied where applicable.
• Controlled FR raw material - Approved flame-retardant PET is verified before use.
• Braid inspection - Diameter, coverage and broken filaments are monitored.
• Traceability - Material and production lots are retained for order tracking.
• Document verification - Reports and declarations are checked against the supplied construction.
Quality and Supply Assurance
Serial supply can be controlled through approved part numbers, lot identification, dimensional inspection, reel labeling, retained production records and agreed change notification. Material formulation, filament, braid construction, color, critical process or manufacturing-site changes should be reviewed before implementation when they may affect the approved railway evidence.
01. Does every size meet HL3?
Report coverage must be confirmed for the requested size and construction.
02. Is EN 45545 the same as VW-1?
No. They use different test methods and acceptance criteria.
03. Can it pass over connectors?
Yes, within its designed expansion range.
04. Are reports available?
Applicable reports can be supplied after construction confirmation.
