Data centers rely on extensive cabling to distribute power, transmit data, connect equipment and support cooling, monitoring and security systems. High cable density, frequent installation changes and continuous operation make reliable cable protection and organization essential.
Cables may be exposed to abrasion, tight routing, repeated handling, heat, dust and mechanical pressure. Suitable protective sleeving helps prevent cable damage, organize bundles, improve identification and support efficient installation and maintenance.
A modern data center may contain thousands of power, copper, fiber-optic and control cables. Without suitable routing and protection, cables can rub against rack edges, become compressed, exceed recommended bend limits or interfere with airflow and maintenance access.
Cable protection solutions can help:
• Reduce abrasion and mechanical damage
• Organize dense cable bundles
• Protect sensitive fiber-optic cables
• Maintain suitable cable bend radius
• Separate power and communication cables
• Improve cable identification
• Support equipment upgrades and maintenance
• Reduce loose cables that may restrict airflow
Product selection should consider cable type, bundle diameter, installation space, heat exposure, flame requirements, required flexibility and future access.
Different areas of a data center create different cable protection requirements. The following guide connects common installation areas with typical protection needs and suitable MJ FLEX product families.

MJ FLEX VTW-PVT is a textile wrap sleeve with a full-length hook-and-loop closure for cables, hoses and mixed utility lines. Its denser fabric body provides broad, soft-surface coverage around assembled systems and opens completely for quick installation. Compared with an open braid, the textile panel offers greater visual containment and a more continuous contact layer for sensitive or mixed bundles.
MJ FLEX ZBW-PZP combines a flexible expandable braid with a full-length zipper to create a secure, reopenable cable-management sleeve. It installs from the side around terminated harnesses, then closes with a positive mechanical fastening action. The braided body follows curved routes and bundle variation, making it useful where a defined closed appearance is preferred over a simple overlap wrap.
MJ FLEX ZTW-PZP is a zip-up textile sleeve for enclosing installed cables and selected hose-and-cable groups. The fabric body creates smooth, opaque coverage, while the full-length zipper provides a secure closure that can be reopened for service. It is suited to visible installations, interior equipment and cable routes where appearance, containment and controlled access are important.
MJ FLEX BRS-PPS is an expandable cable sleeve braided from polyphenylene sulfide monofilament. PPS provides a balanced combination of thermal stability, chemical resistance, dimensional control and electrical performance for cable systems exposed to heat, fluids and demanding industrial environments.
MJ FLEX BRS-PEEK is a premium expandable sleeve braided from polyether ether ketone monofilament. PEEK combines high-temperature capability with mechanical toughness, wear resistance, low moisture uptake and broad chemical resistance. It is intended for high-reliability cable protection where conventional engineering plastics cannot meet the environment.
MJ FLEX BRS-KV is a lightweight braided sleeve made from para-aramid fiber for cable and hose protection where high tensile strength, cut resistance and low weight are priorities. The textile braid protects vulnerable jackets from sharp edges and mechanical damage while remaining flexible around complex assemblies.
MJ FLEX BRS-NM is a textile cable sleeve braided from meta-aramid fiber for applications that prioritize heat resistance, inherent flame resistance and electrical insulation. The flexible braid protects wiring near hot equipment and supports cable organization in aerospace, electrical and transportation systems.
MJ FLEX STW-PET-W is a warp-knitted split wire loom with a textured wave profile for automotive harness protection. The openable structure wraps around installed wiring, follows tight bends and accommodates branch points. Its knitted geometry provides a flexible alternative to rigid conduit in interiors and protected equipment zones.
MJ FLEX BRS-PET-HD is a high-density PET expandable braided mesh cable sleeve designed for applications that require more complete cable coverage than a standard open-weave braid. This tight weave braided sleeving uses closely packed PET monofilaments to reduce visible gaps between yarns. It helps conceal mixed-color wires and creates a cleaner, more uniform harness appearance. The expandable tubular structure fits around connectors and changing bundle diameters while providing lightweight mechanical protection for automotive, industrial and electronic cable assemblies.
MJ FLEX BRS-PET-OE is an OverExpand PET braided wire sleeving created for assemblies where the largest connector is much wider than the finished cable bundle. Its braid geometry opens to provide an enlarged installation diameter, allowing the sleeve to move over plugs, terminals, fittings and uneven transitions before recovering around the cable run. This approach can eliminate connector removal, reduce harness rework and simplify protection of pre-terminated assemblies. Because expansion changes braid angle, surface coverage and installed length, BRS-PET-OE should be selected from both the pass-over diameter and the final bundle diameter rather than from nominal size alone.
